Object to Plans
We have been advised by Trafford Planning that objection letters will still be accepted, right up until the Planning Committee meeting.  If you have not done so yet, please write in to the Chief Planning Officer to express your views.  We need every single letter and every single reason for objecting to be raised, so please make sure your views are heard!

Now the planning application has been submitted, you have the chance to object. To do this, you need to email/write to the Chief Planning Officer at Trafford Council. This is the ONLY way to make your voice heard! To make the process a little easier, we have written a pre-formatted email that will be sent directly to the Chief Planning Officer. To use this email please click below:-

Objections to the Planning Application must be sent as soon as possible. In order to object to the plans, you MUST include in your email/ letter:
· Your name
· Your postal address
· Your own reasons for objecting, in your own words
· Our response to Peel’s correspondence · Our news and knowledge bank ·The general content of our website · We’re sure you have many reasons of your own!
Please tell everyone you know about objecting, now the plans have gone in. Any letters sent to the councillors/MP were incredibly useful in expressing how the community feel, but will not count officially. Only letters/emails sent in to the Chief Planning Officer will count.
Why write to Planning?
We need to make our opinions known to the council, Peel Energy and to others. Peel Energy don’t appear to have listened to us so far… Peel Energy stated in their recent press release (http://www.peelenergy.co.uk/public-continues-to-offer-strong-support-for-barton-renewable-energy-plant) that:
“Feedback from the second public consultation held on 9 and 10 December by Peel Energy continues to show strong levels of support for the proposed Barton Renewable Energy Plant on a site located on the south bank of the Manchester Ship Canal in Trafford… A questionnaire asked visitors for their views on the Barton Renewable Energy Plant plans. Overall 80% of attendees who provided feedback said that they strongly agreed with the proposal.”
However, it was also uncovered that these figures and bold claims were based on feedback from only 10 people!! (Meesenger News Article)
Peel Energy may need to try to convince us that the plant is right for us, but the research speaks for itself (e.g. please see News and Knowledge Bank).  Make your opinions count: Write to Trafford Planning!
NOW is the time to stand up and be counted!!!
