Labour Councillor for Urmston, Kevin Procter, has expressed his concerns about the incinerator proposals. A copy of his submission to the Environment Agency is here:
As a pensioner with grandchildren I despair for what the future holds for them. Having read articles and comments about Biomass plants here and all over the world, how can anybody allow this to be built in a residential area. Do the powers that be realise how frightened the local people are, we are not just protesting for the fun of it, we are protesting because we are scared for the future of our town and for the future of our children and grandchildren.
Would the bosses of Peel Holding like a Biomass plant to be built near them, I doubt it.
