Kate to debate Biomass Power Station on 27th October at 4:30pm
Kate Green, Labour MP for Stretford & Urmston, has successfully lobbied to get an urgent debate in Parliament to raise residents’ concerns about the Biomass Power Station proposed by Peel in Davyhulme. The debate will take place on Wednesday 27th October at 4:30pm.
This will give Kate the opportunity to question the Government Minister and raise residents’ concerns about the health and environmental implications of what is proposed.
Kate said: “I’m pleased the Speaker has accepted my request for a debate in the House of Commons next week. This will give me the opportunity to publicly grill the Government Minister responsible on the scientific evidence, and make sure he is aware of the strength of feeling amongst residents about the proposal for a power plant. I’ve had an enormous postbag on this subject and I want to make sure people’s views are heard not just locally but in Parliament as well.â€
