Bent Lanes Neighbours Support BCAG
Neighbours Lyn Bibby and Carol Glennon of Bent Lanes, Davyhulme have pledged to raise £1,000 for the Breathe Clean Air Group Fighting Fund. The Groups’ Appeal was launched to cover the costs of legal representation and air quality experts at the forthcoming Public Inquiry to stop the building of the Barton Renewable Energy Plant.
A barbecue was held on Saturday night and a steak dinner was held two weeks ago. “We are putting on these events to support the Breathe Clean Air Group,” said Lyn. “We will hold about ten events including coffee mornings. Neighbours in the Bent Lanes area are most welcome to attend. We have to pull together to stop this monstrous incinerator which could ruin our lives”.
Chairman of the Breathe Clean Air Group, Pete Kilvert said, “I’m delighted to attend the barbecue and get to know the people of Bent Lanes. The incinerator site is only a stone’s throw away and its 42 metre high boiler house will tower above the trees and dominate the locality. Its emissions will cause ill health and disease. BCAG is extremely grateful to Lyn and Carol for their generous support”.
The Breathe Clean Air Group is also hosting a series of social events including a Disco/Buffet at Davyhulme Golf Club, a Tribute Band night, a Karaoke Night and a Race Night. See www.BreatheCleanAirGroup.co.uk for details.
Well done to Bent Lanes, we should all stick together. This is a David and Goliath situation, ordinary residents
up against a mega rich company. We are fighting for our families and friends not to be polluted any more.
We don’t want to go back to the dark ages.
