Davyhulme Incinerator Featured on BBC Sunday Politics Show
The Breathe Clean Air Group has declared that the fight against the Davyhulme Incinerator continues.
Here is the footage of the BBC Sunday Politics Show where a shocked panel found it disturbing that the Trafford Council unanimous decision to refuse permission for the Incinerator could be overturned in London – 200 miles away. This flies in the face of local democracy and the Localism Act.
Pendle’s Conservative MP Andrew Stephenson said the decision was regrettable and Salford and Eccles’ Labour MP Hazel Blears reminded the viewers that people have to live next door to it and are concerned for their children’s health.
Trafford’s Breathe Clean Air Group have labelled the incinerator, “the Smiling Assassin”.

Even the Tory MP says the decision to pass the incinerator (by his government) was ‘regrettable’…
So why don’t the Tories all quit the party en masse in protest? Then I’d be impressed with their dedication to PRINCIPLES. Otherwise it’s all just political posturing, IMHO.
